oh i remember the thing i had to make a note of was that ayn rand said once that she didn't start writing to help mankind or whatever but just for the simple pleasure of creating people she could love and admire or something like that, and she's all 'you never get the position you asked for, you get the position precisely because you didn't ask for it' and so now i have something to add to my paper from earlier this term which was all 'fuck i suck at writing and at life i have nothing to offer the world but i want to writewritewrite' and now i can add to that anxiety because i have asked for that position by desiring it and i want to do all of that helping mankind shit and it's not selfish and i guess great art only comes of selfishness.i'm so confused. but not really. i am just typing for the sake of typing. i don't really believe ayn rand.
