i have been doing these things and thinking these things latelyi think that one of levertov's with a dozen really short couplets has a line in it that goes, "honesty isn't so simple."
there was also a thing about koans that i read that talked about non-attachment versus detachment and i agree with it that non-attachment is good and detachment is bad but it's just too bad that language reduces it to such wordplay.
my mom is stressing out because she just weighed herself and she weighs 134 pounds. i gave in and weighed myself for the first time in months and i weigh 118. i also grew an inch, so i came out the year at approximately the same shape i went into it, which was 5'7" and 114 pounds.
this summer i am being a hermit and utterly selfish. noah yavitz, where have you disappeared to? (malta?) jess is in cali until july 22nd or so, rachel's going to bard with a bunch of people she likes, tiger wants to go to oberlin, julia's exboyfriend is being impossible and childish (as all men are: "they just take up so much room" as one female author aptly put it), johanna hates work, i don't know what else. i ate stuff today and i also did a lot of college searching, prompted by the SAT scores that came my way. after hours of tiptoeing around the oxford website i've decided that i will definitely apply to the philosophy & theology course at oxford, to maybe st. john's college or perhaps worcester. and if i get in you can all convert to one form of fanaticist religion or other because my acceptance letter will be proof that there are such things as miracles.
i also watched a bunch of movies and i would list them but i've forgotten half of their titles.
it's kind of sad that only after three full years of blogging i've understood enough html to enable the comments function on this, thanks only to blogger that made it as easy as clicking the little button that says "yes" to the "would you like to have comments on your page?" also i really really really really want to go to oxford now.
if hunter/mcginty/thomson see(s) this, please email/IM me.

i love this:
(it's only funny because it's so true)
i love, also, andrew womack. i know he's married and lives in brooklyn with his wife of one year and three months and is probably very happy, but i love him nonetheless. however, according to a piece he's written recently, he would find me annoying as i am a scorpio. this is also fucking hilarious.
