i filled out the same thing last year.1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
cried over a boy. cheated in a relationship. slept with someone and meant it. been left speechless, really.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
last year's new year's resolution: stop biting my nails. oh well.
resolution for 2005: stop biting my nails. be nicer.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no, but my aunt's pregnant. so next year i will be able to write yes.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
not as far as i can remember.
5. What countries did you visit?
korea and usa.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
college acceptance letters. a casual relationship verging on fling. fun without attachment.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
some date in january during the primaries, february 13, march 23-25, april 28, april 30, may 22, november 11, november 17, december 2, december 14 and then some. (i had a great year.)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
falling in love and then falling out of it. and "having guts".
9. What was your biggest failure?
falling in love and then falling out it. trying to form a close relationship with my father.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
my period being erratic and blood iron count being low. becoming too underweight over summer. you know, the usual.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
some jackets, shirts, skirts, pants, dresses. clothes. books. my ibook and ipod. plane tickets to chicago.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
my mother, noah, ben, julia, lauren, hunter. they make me happy. josh baxter. oh and johanna. truly.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
i shouldn't.
14. Where did most of your money go?
clothes, books. ipod, tickets to chicago.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
shows. poets. infinities. 17th century slavery in south carolina. hamlet.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? about the same, i guess.
ii. thinner or fatter? damn college apps. fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? so much poorer. totally broke and in debt, but i have a great wardrobe and book/music collection and an ipod in my pocket. and i'm going to chicago in february.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
befriend younger people

stress out

i have no idea.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
seriously, yes. in my usual sense of 'in love,' countless times. once somewhere in between.

non-disclosable information, that is.

curb your enthusiasm.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
i don't think i care enough to hate anyone.

who knows. i was quoting the fall forever. "adolescents lose their metaphysical unrest with their first mistress." and sartre, "your entire universe is not enough to prove me wrong!" [shakes fists vigorously]

mates of state! mr. bungle!

i don't think that happened. but surprisingly, this year has been the best year thus far. maybe clutter.

a husband. college acceptance letter.

elf. i liked closer a lot too, though.

i ate too much rum cake and i turned nineteen.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
really liking someone after june.

fabulous->nearly naked->fabulous->apathy->fabulous

my mom. mr weber. mr ibbotson and mr ramsey. frank ohara. mr pruitt. johanna, noah, mcg. but mostly talking to noah.

ethan hawke/zac posen.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
the election. i'm predictable.
37. Who did you miss?
it wasn't a specific person so much as "someone to fill this void".
38. Who was the best new person you met?
oh so many. noah butler yavitz, if i had to choose just one. but ibbotson and ben chartoff and baxter. i mean i knew them before but i only really befriended them this year. james. carrie. i don't even know.
